SPF, which abbreviates Sender Policy Framework, is a verification system that aims at blocking the so-called email forging. Basically, it indicates sending a message from one email address and making it appear to be sent from a different one with the idea to scam in some manner the individual receiving it. When the SPF protection is activated for a domain name, a record that includes all the mail servers authorized to send messages with addresses within the domain is made. The record is kept on all the DNS servers that route the web traffic internationally, therefore they all will recognize whether an e-mail message originates from an authentic server or not. The verification is performed at the first server where the e-mail goes through and in the first case the message is forwarded, and in the second it is discarded and it never reaches the supposed recipient. Employing SPF records for your domains will stop all unwanted people from using your email addresses for malicious purposes.

SPF Protection in Cloud Hosting

SPF protection can be enabled for each domain hosted in a cloud hosting account on our cloud platform with just a couple of mouse-clicks. The option can be found in the Emails section of our exceptional Hepsia Control Panel and all it takes to use it is to select one of your domain names from a drop-down menu and then enter the hostnames plus the IPv4 or IPv6 addresses of the e-mail servers which will be permitted to send email messages from your email addresses. As an added option you can even restrict the e-mails to be sent from your domain only when it has our MX records, i.e. when our servers handle the email addresses for it, not a third-party supplier. This feature will give you the highest degree of safety, but it is not applicable when only your website is on our servers while the email addresses for the domain are handled somewhere else. Either way, the SPF protection service will keep your emails risk-free from being used for spam and/or scam purposes.

SPF Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers

The SPF protection attribute is featured with all semi-dedicated plans, so when you host your domains in an account on our cloud web hosting platform, you'll be able to activate this particular service without difficulty for any of your domains. The Hepsia Control Panel, which is provided with the semi-dedicated accounts, has a quite easy to use interface, therefore you don't have to be tech-savvy in order to secure your emails. You will simply need to type the hostname and the IP address of each mail server that you would like to be permitted to send e-mails from your addresses and shortly after that the updated record will be activated for the domain name that you've chosen. As an extra option, we also give you the ability to restrict your outgoing emails and protect your mailboxes further by permitting messages to be sent only if the domain in question has our MX records i.e. the emails for the domain should be managed here and not by a different supplier. Thus you'll have even better control and there won't be any chance for someone to counterfeit your emails for harmful activities.
