A catch-all mailbox is one that collects all the emails sent to invalid addresses. For instance, if your email address is info@domain.com, but somebody miswrites it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Just one single mailbox per domain name can have this feature activated and thus you’ll never miss messages because the other party has an obsolete address or has made a typo. The downside of having a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving a lot of unsolicited bulk email messages, but this problem can be resolved using an anti-spam filtering solution. It’s also crucial to bear in mind that a mailbox with an active catch-all functionality cannot redirect incoming emails to a third-party email address.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting

If you host a domain name on our cloud hosting platform and you have a cloud hosting account, you’ll be able to enable the catch-all functionality for any mailbox that you set up under the domain. The Email Manager section of the Hepsia hosting Control Panel comes with quite a lot of features, but it is remarkably easy to use, so creating a catch-all mailbox requires only one click. All the email addresses that you have will be displayed in this section alphabetically and you’ll just need to click on the "Catch-all" button associated with the given email address. Our system will notify you if there’s already another catch-all mailbox enabled for that domain name or if the one that you want to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding enabled, so you can either disable the latter feature or pick some other mailbox. Disabling the catch-all feature is just as easy and takes one more mouse click on the exact same button.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The custom-created Hepsia Control Panel that comes with every semi-dedicated server plan that we’re offering will allow you to create a catch-all mailbox without any difficulties even if you don’t have much email/web hosting experience. All it takes to achieve that is to click on the catch-all icon, which will be to the right of each mailbox that you have set up using your domain names in the hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section. Since you can have only one mailbox with this feature per domain, our system will inform you if you’ve already created another catch-all mailbox or if the one that you’d like to use has email forwarding activated. If you decide that you don’t want the feature any longer, you can remove it by clicking again on the very same icon. The Email Manager section will also permit you to view your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
